Testimonials

At GMI Music Institute, we believe music education should inspire, challenge, and build confidence.
Parents and students consistently share how our dedicated instructors and individualized approach make
a lasting difference—both musically and personally.

Two years ago, I decided it was time to challenge myself and learn something completely new—guitar. Starting from zero, I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. Gary guided me step by step from knowing absolutely nothing to confidently playing blues and rock songs I never thought I’d be able to tackle.

What sets Gary apart is the perfect balance he brings to each lesson: he’s incredibly patient when I need support but also knows when to push me just enough to keep me improving. That combination has made all the difference in my progress and enjoyment.
If you’re thinking about learning guitar at any age or level, I highly recommend Gary. He makes the journey both rewarding and fun.

Our son Zac has been going to GMI for guitar lessons for a few months and absolutely loves it! Zac looks forward to his lessons every week and practices without complaint from having fun. He is learning so much and it's so fun getting to hear him play!

I took a few acoustic guitar lessons when I was 12 back in 1971 and really liked it and always had it on my mind to pick it up again. I retired in 2024 and bought a used acoustic guitar and tried acoustic guitar lessons on line and not really getting anywhere with it. I decided to do a search for someone local for lessons and found Grisafi Music Institute and sent him an email. Gary told me to come over and I've been taking lessons in person learning and playing and having a great time. Gary is easy to get along with and patient. I enjoy and look forward for my acoustic guitar lesson and I do feel that it's helping my fingers and hands feel better as well.

Gary has been giving my son (currently 11 years old) guitar lessons for around 2 years now. He is patient and always willing to tailor the lessons to my son's musical interests. I have seen my son's interest in the guitar grow in the time he has been taking lessons and he now thinks about composing songs on his own. I am very glad we chose Gary at GMI for music lessons!

Gary has been teaching me guitar for a little over a year now. I think the measure of a good teacher is how much progress you have made. I have come very far in one year - I am playing bar chords, licks, songs etc. I have learned a lot. But the measure of a great teacher is how much you enjoy it along the way. He is the first teacher to come along that really made me excited about practicing every day with his uniquely tailored lessons. Just last week he wrote down a song for me to play and to practice, teaching me the chords, showing me how to put it all together and letting me know how it should sound, and I was so excited to just play (aka practice) this song. Also, he always makes you feel comfortable, and has a great sense of humor - even in the face of repeated mistakes this student makes! Highly recommend Gary, if you want to enjoy playing the guitar and make progress - he is your guy. He is great! You can't go wrong here.
